In collaboration with the Executive Chef, the Food Service Assistant Manager executes the operational needs of the School of Hospitality Business Management (SHBM) catering services and the Hospitality Business Management (HBM) curriculum. In addition to managing the operational needs of the facility, the position provides student laboratory support to the Executive Chef for HBM 258. Represent executive chef and School of Hospitality Business Management at external events including catering, seminars, presentations etc. Act as ambassador for the School of Hospitality Business Management at fund raising and friend raising events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant administration, institutional management, business administration or closely related field and one (1) year of supervisory/management experience including planning and budgeting. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: American Culinary Federation certification, or a degree in culinary arts. Knowledge of fine dining, beverage service, and food and wine parings.
